I have some small LED lights I mounted into the lower grille. I need some advice on hooking them up. Can't I just use t-connectors to splice into the amber DRL lights? or do I need to go through some "box"?, or should they be hooked to an off/on switch? I just want to do the simplest solution to get them to light up and not effect any of the other electrical systems.

If they're amber or white you should be fine tapping into the dtrl. Small led pull almost no power

I forgot to say there are two wires, a red and a black, coming out the back of each LED light. What to I do with each of those colors?

Red should be positive and black should be the negative. Splice the positive wore into the dtrl positive and the negative should be grounded. Not sure if you have to use the ground for the dtrl or not. I would think any ground would work
