Would like some opinions. I currently drive a 2015 Silverado but I'm real close to going with a Toyota. I've always owned chevys. This would be my 1st toyota. I guess I'm asking should I switch? Has anyone else gone from a full size to a smaller truck. Thanks for any opinions.

I went from an '07 Tundra to a '16 Tacoma. I've loved the switch because it is much more maneuverable and parkable. I found that I never really needed the increased towing or payload of a full size, so there haven't been any negatives for me moving to the Tacoma. The tundra just got TOO big for me. I loved my '01 Tundra so I stayed with the Tundra when I bought in 2007...but I underestimated how much it had grown.

But this is a very individual thing depending on what your uses for the truck are.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I'd like a reg cab 2wd Silverado if that makes any difference.

I was in your shoes also, always drove Fords. Seen a new Tacoma out front of dealership, needless to say I did an impulse buy because I liked the look of the Tacoma. 2yrs owning this Tacoma and I had enough of this gutless stagecoach truck. I traded it back in on a 2015 FX4 F150. If your use to fullsize its tough downsizing to an underpowered midsize. It lacks power, size, comfort creatures, roominess etc etc. Your call bud......

I used to tow a travel trailer but don't anymore. I really have no need for a full size its just something I'm used to. Also I can't decide between the sr5 or trd sport.

I needed a new truck. My son has an 02 Tacoma still running like it did when new. Tacoma's reputation for quality is why I have a new TRD Offroad.

Sounds like you don't even need a truck anymore. Maybe it's time for a Prius?

Right now I think it beats a lousy transmission, bad fuel injectors, and loose spark plugs in an F-150

Welcome to TW. Pardon my asking, why did you get rid of your TT? Found you were not using it?

You'll be fine if you accept it for what it is. It's a smaller mid-size truck that can't, won't and not meant to run with the big boys. I'm coming out of 3 consecutive RAM Quad Cabs and don't regret getting my 2016 Taco for one second.

It was meant to be a joke. I love my Tacoma. I considered an f-150 coming out of my second gen and just couldn't do it.

The 2016 tranny fucking sucks it can't find a gear and be happy with it. Drive a 2015 and a 2016 and make sure you drive both up a big hill and down a big hill. The 2016 is constantly shift gears. Read lots on here there are a lot of people that are trading in autos because how bad they are,so do your research

Lousy trans? Read the forums here, sounds like Tacoma has an issue in the Trans dept bud. Loose spark plugs? lol Never heard, but my Tacoma dealer wanted be to change out plugs at 10,000kms, not miles and at my cost! Every 10k to change plugs is pathetic. Lets not talk about frames.. Every brand has its problems, Toyota fans usually blame driver error more often then primitive technology in there trucks!

Looks like it already has Tacoma rear springs.

It really depends on your needs. At work I have a full size (Tundra), my personal truck I have a mid size (Dakota, waiting for my Tacoma). The Taco will be easier to park, and to me a midsize is more fun to drive. If you have a family or friends that ride with you often, a full size will be better. Since you no longer tow a trailer, and if you don´t need the room in the rear seats, you will adjust to the mid size.
As far as the SR5 vs Sport. Major differences are of course the scoop, painted bumper, the sport will have Entune Premium with integrated navigation, the SR5 will have Entune Plus with connected nav(scout). The sport has pushbutton start, the SR5 uses a key. I opted for a sport due to the fact that most of the SR5´s they get here have so much other stuff added, I can get a sport for the same price, plus the ¨Skewp¨ man.
