    Hey TW.

I've been a short term lurker here and I have been impressed with the community.

A bit about me, I'm from the land of Canadia in Northern Alberta, which makes it fairly difficult to find one that's decent.

I was a heavy duty mechanic (An apprentice anyways) working on the big mine trucks till the oil recession. Now I work at an autobody shop mainly doing mainly bumper removal and installation with some mechanical/suspension stuff, nothing with fixing bodies yet.

I don't actually own one yet, I've been looking for one for a while, preferably a first gen, or an older Pickup model. I want a Tacoma/Pickup purely out of fascination. I've never actually owned a pickup truck, my first car was a brand new CR-V I picked up in August 2013, something I've begun to loathe. In less than 3 years I racked up over 84,000 km, so I definitely love driving.

What I essentially want is a road trip vehicle that I can just tent into the box, with some storage.
I've been eyeing Mtnbike247's thread like a freaking hawk.

I'm planning a cross Canada road trip for next summer with a bunch of friends so hopefully things go according to plan.

My budget isn't much, around $5000 or so because I really want to work on fixing a beater as well as keeping it my daily driver
I just went ahead and checked this out today,

It requires some body work, and I didn't see any rust holes on the frame, definitely surface rust though, but seeing it on the front spring mounts/nuts is a bit much for me. At most I'd pay $2000 for that.
