My apologies if this has already been addressed, but what has your experience been like with buying off aftermarket sites? What's the best one with the best prices? As a Calgarian, I really enjoy free shipping in Canada so that's a must. I'm looking to get an aftermarket suspension set among other things. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Some links are more for Ontario but still some good sources. What parts are you looking for? I personally had a great experience dealing with vendors on the site that shipped through fastenal or to places that we can hop over the boarder to get stuff. Got all my armour that way. Only had to pay sale tax and no duties and saved a ton on shipping for my armour.

I want to get an aftermarket suspension kit. I want to spend less than 2000. The truck already has 3“ spacers on it from the previous owner as well as steel Bumpers and 285/70r17 tires. I think the weight/abuse is causing some of the squeaking I'm hearing. Lookung to replace it with something more bulletproof. I was looking at ICON sets but can't find a site that willwill ship them to Canada. I'm also looking to buy a box tent, mattress, and lights

Awesome list haha. Have you tried http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com? Also I'm pretty sure some of the vendors on here like @Downsouth Motorsports may ship to Canada as well. I have ordered uCA from head strong off-road as well.

As for the tent I believe some of the links in the other thread I posted may help ya out. Also there is the gear shop out of Calgary (if I remember correctly) http://www.gearshop.ca.

Why not just buy local for a total of zero shipping costs? You have a couple of the best shops in Canada for Toyota aftermarket parts right in your own back yard. Cochrane Toyota is excellent for lifts especially if you want to go with icon. They also carry pelfreybilt bumpers.

The gear shop is great too.

Save yourself the hassle and avoid drop shippers lot tdot. There are plenty of horror stories around them here. Buy local.

Also there is a 4wheelparts store in calgary that has good prices on rigid lights.

You can find a roof top tent at any of the places I mentioned.

Just out of curiousity, lots of people having bad experience with tdotperformance? Used them once for brakes, and was satisfied but maybe I just got lucky. I am also in the GTA area so maybe that makes the difference.

There are at least a dozen "where to buy parts online in Canada" threads. In all of them there are at least a few people who have had issues with Tdot. The OP is from Calgary where there are several strong local dealers who are price competitive. I don't see the advantage for him in investing in quality coilovers from an unknown seller when someone local with tons of experience can sell him the right thing at close to the same price.

Gear Shop is where I ended up getting my RTT, and rigid lights I ended up getting great deals through Amazon.ca (just kept watching for sales while I waited on bumpers)

Allpro is just down from you in Montana nice little trip

Allpro is pretty unpopular around here. I'm not sure why though to be honest. CBI is also within driving distance and from what I've heard they are easier to deal with.

To be honest I bought my bumper through cochrane toyota. I bought a pelfreybilt. Awesome service and a really quality product. The price was great too, cochrane brings in a shipment every month or two so the shipping costs are low.

Absolutely. Wasn't trying to dispute the whole buy local. I can't really considering I have no idea what's out there. Was more just curious about the bad experiences with tdot since I do suggest them based off of my experience. It's always good to know since I don't want to lead people to a bad experience. Just wasn't aware of the reputation since I just found them on the Google and my tansaction went smoothly. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'll check around Calgary for something local. Sorry if this was a repeated topic but I wanted to know my options and I lost enthusiasm sifting through thread results.

If you plan on adding a tent and already have steel bumpers don't even consider an AAL. Get a set of Dakars for the rear. They are beasts. Throw on 1000 lbs and they only sag about an inch.

OK, dakars look pretty good from what I've read. 2.75" lift so What shocks would I have to get then? And in the front?

If I were you OP I'd skip the cheap crap and go for what you need. Go with Icon 2.5's up front with 650 lbs coils and extended length Icon 2.0's in the rear with a Dakar leaf pack. You could also go with Fox shocks and still have no issues.

If you need to save money go with 6112's up front set at 2.5" and add a 0.5" top spacer to get your 3" lift. Then go with 5100's in the back with a progressive AAL. That would be cheaper but you'd be sacrificing rebuild-ability and adjust-ability.

Again, go to COCHRANE TOYOTA... then you don't have to do any guess work on what will fit. Tell them what you want and they will get you prices and a setup that works. They have access to all of these parts and have lifted dozens of Tacoma's.
