I can get some of one of my other ones after work. Original tin with graphics on it still, real neat.

A day off for me today...just got home after one meeting I had to go to and then have another meeting at 2:30 - 5:30 for a non-profit board I sit on. Then I have a meeting tonight of a planning commission I sit on. So much for a day off.

Pics of a couple of my 100+ year old stoves. Primus 96, use kerosene. The tiny feet and date code stamped on the bottom date them that far, plus there is a dating chart over on Classic Camp Stoves, in the Stove Reference section. Pretty small stoves. They have what is called a lipstick burner, a burner bell sits on top of it, with the burner plate placed on that in slots so as to keep the burner plate in place. The "lipstick" has a roll of fine brass mesh inside it to help vaporize the kerosene. The opening at the top of the "lipstick" is about the size of a hair, .023 mm. Much larger and the kero is unable to vaporize and the flame will burn with a yellowish color, you need vaporized fuel to burn. The "D" stamped on the bottom of this one corresponds to 1914, see it under Sweden on the stove bottom. The tins pictured are original, amazing they have survived that nicely. Thank you for asking.

I had a Yammie a couple of years ago. Good machine, all but impossible to get parts in the US. It sold me on tracked snowblowers but I sold it and bought a new tracked snowblower from Honda.

Cool burner there Duane! I hope I still look that good at 100 years old...

We've just been through another health episode with my parents. Dad this time, minor heart attack. I'm happy to say he got through it and is back home, but the truth is that his heart is not in good shape and they won't do much about it anymore due to his age. Clock keeps ticking I guess.

One a positive note my wife's recovery from foot surgery is going really well. She got the okay to stop using the "ski boot" yesterday, normal shoes are back!

:annoyed: or  was looking for the torque specs for the transmission pan bolts... ended up on a toyota site.... had a pop up window with a "help tech" who asked what I was doing.... looking for torque specs... "what's the issue" "what can I help you with" "what issues are you having?" "pay $5 and I'll connect you with a technician who can assist you" What part of all I need is torque specs do you not understand

    Afternoon all:
DANG Sue, you crawling around under the truck again!
Or do you have a pit or a lift in the garage that you aren't telling us about!

Big mistake when I built the garage, I was going to put a pit in and then didn't. They are illegal, but I could have snuck one in!

Cool stove Duane, amazing that stuff that old still does its job.

Good to hear the wife is doing OK and coming along normal after the surgery Dave.
Hope your dad will be OK also, guys at work had heart attacks and made it for quite awhile afterward.

I had to run my Civic up on layers of blocks to change the oil when I had it, the new truck, almost need a ladder to reach the drain plug. :) Will be nice. Put in LED's in the interior and license plate, nice light inside now. Should have left the license plate ones alone, broke a socket, $30. Just what I need, to enable folks to read my plate# at night. What was I thinking. Will have to watch what convenience stores I hit now, late at night. :)

 afternoon Carl.... Yes, have been under there.... No pit or lift... just a floor jack and jack stands. Man, a pit would be awesome!!!! make it so much easier. Made the biggest mess ever when changing my oil :anonymous: forgot to pull the plug in the drain pan before I shoved it back under the truck (after cleaning the tranny fluid out of it) Thank goodness, it didn't over flow. Backed the truck out and pulled the plug.... was within 1/4" of the top  Almost sent it over when pulling the plug. Then when dumping it into the empty oil bottle, spilled everywhere :annoyed: Also forgot to close the vent plug and had oil coming out of there, too.....

Missed the part about your wife and dad, Dave. Hope they are both back to their normal selves very soon.

The tattoo is healing nicely...but now itching like a bas***d! Light coats of Aveeno are my friend for the next few days. Every time I take off my shirt or get in the shower I leave a trail of black specks...Lynn is loving me.

Somehow, now that it's getting warmer, I'm finding the motivation to hit my gym almost every afternoon. Still working on cleaning up some trees I lost from the snow this winter. Will make nice firewood after it cures for most of the summer...I hope.
Still leery about using my chainsaw alone. Prefer to have someone around in case something bad happens.

Sometimes if you cover it and keep the air away from it they say it won't itch as much :)

The conventional wisdom now is to expose it to air as much as possible to allow it to heal more quickly and also to prevent infection. It's like having a sunburn - but you can't scratch or peel it. Really not that bad - but looks ugly because it has a layer of dead skin over it.

    Ahhhhhhhh.......
For years I was thinking of a piston with a spark plug on top exploding.
