I returned from a out of town trip and when I turned on my a/c the entire dash started to vibrate and make a loud humming noise. I immediately turned it off, the back on to see if it was really the cause of the vibration. The damn noise and vibration was still there. So I just drive the truck home with the windows down.

Once I get home I search TacomaWorld to see if anyone else has had a similar experience. As I read, I figured it could be coming from the fan blower motor for a number of reasons. This is what I found:

To summarize, these four rodents somehow made their way into the truck via the air filter box and started to nest. Once I pulled the fan and filter I discovered them, all having moved on to the afterlife. The vibration was because of an weight imbalance once the motor got up to speed.

Got it all cleaned up, spritzed it with Fabreez and replaced all the components. Glad I caught it early.

Glad you turned on the blower. Just think if you hadn't...

It looks like that family of mice had one hell of a Monday...

Ditto on catching it early. The same thing happened to my old man years ago, except the mice were a couple of days into the decaying process. It smelled horrible.

Wow, it's a good thing you found them early. I might have to put some sort of wire screen in the air intake to prevent any critters from getting into mine

Agreed! It looks like one of those old Civil War post battle photos with the dead bodies posed next to a rock wall or tree.

If it had been me, I would have been too pissed to take any pics.

 I hear ya, I wouldn't have been able to get them cleaned out fast enough. For me, mice are one of those problems that pop every few years in one way or another.

I recently had the mouse nest issue in my truck as well. I thought about using hardware cloth to cover the vent hold under the cowl, but I am afraid that the mice would then just build their nest on top of the wire under the cowl. Moving the cowl seems like much more trouble than just changing a filter.
    Any thoughts on this?
