I am purchasing a lift after I get some questions answered. I am wanting the Bilstein 6112 and 5160 set up. I am wanting to level the front end of my taco 2" or close anyhow. I was wondering if I am limited to moving the strut to 1.75" setting or can I order a coil that can achieve this without compromising the integrity of the front strut by going with a 2" lift coil with the 6112. I am wondering if the 6112 can be used with a 2" lift coil if it is not a extended travel.

I have heard that the higher the clip setting on the strut the more ride comfort that is sacrificed. I am wanting the best of both worlds. Any info would be appreciated.

You could run it on the 1.75 setting with a 1/4 inch top plate spacer if you want exactly 2 inches. I'm sure someone here will correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think that will add any additional preload to the spring so in theory it will ride just like it would on the 1.75 setting. In any case, the coilovers that are sold with the 6112 are rated up to 2.75 inches of lift (I think) on the top setting so you're not even close to maxing out the shock (assuming you're using the coils that are matched to the shock from the factory... a toytec coil I believe).

Also, note that many are getting slightly more lift than advertised on each setting so the 1.75 setting might put you right around 2 inches.

The other alternative is, as you say, go with a stiffer spring.
