Anyone have experience towing a 6000lb boat (on the scales) .I'm considering towing the boat once on flat ground at a slow speed 50-55 for about 300 miles - no ramp duties just transport. I spoke to the dealership and said that tow capacity with tow package(which I have) is 6500lb.Service writer at Toyota said he has towed 10,000lbs on a bobcat trailer and it wasn't a problem . He said that stopping might be an issue but what I'm towing has brakes . Just wondering if anyone has towed 5500lbs or more .Thanks.. Love my truck

Welcome to TW. You are within the tow capacity limit so you shouldn't have any problems as long as you take it easy. Boats have lower tongue weights since most of the weight is at the back so hopefully your suspension won't sag too much.

You'll be fine OP. Keep the transmission in 4th. Some people may disagree. You'll burn a little more fuel but it will be much easier on your transmission.

Some pretty good discussion in here if you're interested

Make sure you're current on your diff oil and ATF.

Also, try and keep the weight down in your truck for the trip.
