I am about to get my lift installed soon with 285 ko2.

Should the alignment be done with the ko2?

If I decide to get the alignment done with the stock tires and wheels and then decide to put on the ko2 with new wheels does that mean I have to get alignment done again?

Anytime you make changes to suspension you should do an alignment. At least to verify if nothing else. I paid for the lifetime alignment from my local Firestone (around $140 I think, it's been a while) and worth every penny. I have had it done a number of times already as I try different setups. If you only change tire size you shouldn't need one, but after changes to components you should really get it done IMHO.

Go to a shop that offers lifetime alignments and you don't need to worry about it.

Unless the tires are drastically different and balanced properly, you usually don't need to do an alignment just because of new tires. Now sometimes after the new ones have been on a while you might, but again lifetime alignment and it's not a big deal. Some shops offer them for about $120. When an alignment is like $80-90 it's worth it.

I was in your shoes, I had a 1 year unlimited alignment through Big 0, so when I installed my leveling kit/ and KO'2s through 4 wheel parts so i opted not to have them do a alignment thinking i would save money- big mistake. I took my truck 4 times and 2 different locations of Big O tires and they could never get my tires 100% vertical- camber was never at 0 and they kept making excuses. I paid $ 160 for the alignments back when my truck was stock- def got my moneys worth before the KO 2's but after tires and kit installed- my alignment was off. So i called 4 wheel parts and they told me to bring in, that big 0 goes off factory specs and they specialize in alignments on lifted trucks- reason the charge more.

I paid $190 for a one time alignment- but at last i have NO negative or positive camber. Guess it really depends on how good the techs are- but I had horrible exp with basic tire shop. So i went to the pros and was expensive but now corrected

Seems odd for just a level kit.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm trying to figure out who's going to do my alignment after my lift kit install.

What should the alignment specs be with a 2.5" lift?

i just went with a 2.5 leveling kit- not UCA's . Funny thing was when i got my truck back when kit/wheels and tires where installed (without alignment) i had 0 rubbing whatsoever. Drove it to Big o the next morning for alignment and thats when the shit storm started. So for a month my alignment was off. Took to 4 wheel parts for correction and the tires now 100% vertical but as soon as i left and pulled into gas station i started to rub. I took my truck back 2 times to get inner fender cut. I have minimal rub now but i assume with the tires being 100% vertical -obviously now a little taller. im running 285 70 17-32's K0 2s

How much bigger are those than stock? (I know very little about tires)

I've been getting the impression that you cannot increase tire size at all on these trucks without rubbing.

Yeah its a big jump from stk trd sport tire to what im running. my friend has a 6 inch lift on his 4WD TRD with 35's and claims no rubbing.

Does anyone know what the best alignment should be for someone who will be putting on KO2 285/75/16 with a 3in lift?
