It's not the logo I dislike, it's the width of the tie down. It gets close to the battery terminals on some batteries, and when it is raw aluminum it can easily cause shorts, especially when wrenches and large mil spec terminals are involved.

I understand what your getting at. I have carelessly shorted a battery before. Not good. Personally, I feel there is plenty clearance in this design but understand the concept of not creating more of a potential for a problem if it's not needed.

Exactly. It's actually a common mistake I see made a lot with battery trays.

This one isn't too bad, but it could be perfect with a slim tie down.

Some aluminum trays are just begging for a short, take these ridiculous trays on Amazon for example. I have no idea what the designer was thinking:

This is a question I get a lot. I can tell you, after running these trays for a lot longer than Ive been selling them, Ive never once had a short. Sure, if you weren't paying attention and bridged your wrench to a ground while working on the positive terminal, it will short. However, this is the case with any tiedown. My tiedowns actually have a lot more room than they appear in the pics.

With all that said... the people want what they want... I will incorporate a slimmer tiedown design in my next production run. Then, I will offer the choice.

Ha! Its all good man. No offense taken. In fact, I really like the idea of calling it a blend between the two designs.

And yes, in real life, Im a flight paramedic... so it makes sense.

Good to talk to you on the phone today Matt. I figured out I won't need a dual setup from u for the trailer as I can chain a group 31 to the yeti1250 with a cable they have and then use my solar panel to charge both pieces.
However I will def be in for a starter batt relocate and 31 in stock location setup!

Awesome! That definitely sounds like the way to go. The trailer will do just fine with a new battery and the YETI as backup. The truck will be amazing with the starter battery relocate and a huge auxiliary battery.... Personally, that setup is my favorite.

Hi. I just picked the ibs kit and would like to use that since i just spent a chunk on it. However, your work looks legit. Would you be able to take care of my cables once i decide where I'm going to mount the relays for the ibs?

Absolutely! You tell me where the relay is and how your batteries are oriented and I'll get you all set up with cables. Just let me know!

Alright folks. CAD designing is done. Off to manufacturing!

Introducing the dual battery system for 2nd Gen Tacomas (yet to be tested on 3rd Gens) that places BOTH batteries in the factory location. This tray is specifically designed around two Odyssey PC1400's and similar sized batteries. It will require drilling four small holes to place mounting hardware.. but NO CUTTING! This allows for quick reversal to a factory style battery mount with no permanent visible mods to the truck.

The tiedown will mount the ML-ACR relay sold in my kits. The best way to take advantage of the clean design of these systems is to purchase them as full kits... but these can be purchased stand alone so you can design your own system!

    Dual Tray.jpg

The above mounting system will be sold with the system you see below... or as a stand alone unit.

Yea the Odeysseys in the size for Matts kits can be difficult to find at this time. I ended up sourcing locally (paid about $20 more per and tax) but had them the next day.

Best local price I had here was $100 more for the two batteries. Ordered through Batterymart. Not their fault, their having delays in receiving them from Odyssey.
