In this image I'm pointing to the bolt the ground wire connects to. I took off the lower panel under the steering wheel. At some point this broke off I'm not sure where it goes. Anybody?

By the look of the crimp connector it doesn't appear to be a factory wire. Do you have aftermarket lights or a stereo?

No it's factory. If you look at the end of the wire it also appears it was soldered onto something. But I'm not sure.

It looked like a blue crimp connector under the bolt that your finger is touching in the picture. I've yet to see one of those crimp connectors used from the factory.

I did buy the truck used. However… There are no accessory lights or anything installed on the vehicle

That's aftermarket dude. Whoever used that removed whatever accessories were on there prior to selling the vehicle that bracket is a common grounding point as it is one of the most accessible without removing half of the dash from inside the cab.

I guess that is possible/probable. I was almost hoping it did go to something. Because I'm having another electrical issue where my HVAC lights don't come on. The HVAC is still operating but I have no lights. Completely separate from this post but. I was hoping it could possibly be my issue but if not I really wanted to know where it went anyways

I didn't even notice the wire during my disassembly of the lower kick panel

Nope. Has nothing to do with it. Pop out your HVAC control panel and check the connections in the rear. Mine loses the lights every here and there. I give it a nice pop and the lights come back on telling me I have a loose wire back there, I'm not willing to mess with it though.

I did it to myself. I had the whole center counsel ripped apart. I made a rookie mistake of not unplugging my battery and I accidentally touched two wires together. I was hoping I blew a fuse but I can't seem to find a blown fuse anywhere

So if anybody knows what fuse controls the HVAC lights I'm all ears!

I got it! It was a tail light fuse! WTF! The only thing I don't understand. All the other things that fuse was linked to where working

The HVAC doesn't have its own illumination fuse it comes from the same illumination source as the other panel lights. I think the tail fuse.

Oh never mind I see you found it while I was looking at the prints.

Just wanted to thank all of you for the help! I feel like a dumbass but oh well. We all have to learn somehow. So glad I'm a member of this site. Without it I wouldn't know how to begin to do dome of the things I've done to or fixed on my truck. I also would have more money because of the things I've done to and am going to be doing to my truck!!! lol:facepalm:
