I'm running 63's on mine. At first they didn't work worth a damn. I'm extremely light in the rear and they just would not move so I inboarded them and they are working very well now but I have some excessive body roll.

Best before pic I can find. Couldn't even get on a 37" without lifting

Try pulling some leafs. I have some all pro expos on a light truck and i pulled two leafs out. Works great, im ready to toss one back in as they are a little too soft after 3yrs of wheeling.

What length shackle are you running on the chevys? Going to be running them as well.

Looking at this combo, have a brand new set of expos just sitting because they didn't work either.

Thinking the chevy 63s + playing with the shackle placement will help out....I hope.

Wanting to keep my 14" Bilsteins on all four corners.

Rancho 44044s in the front replaced the crap 4"HD leafs from trailgear, guess American leafs are needed in the rear too.

If you're light in the rear go with the skyjacker soft ride 63's. They flex like a champ, although they're a little light for my heavy ass.

They do cost a pretty penny though.

Looking into those as an option, I see the challenge ( or at least I think) will be getting the necessary height to match the front without running a massive shackle.
I guess that all depends on the leaf spring mount locations?

Either way I do see this as a way to upgrade the rear shackle mount since thats only 1/8" ish.

It looks like you just have too much spring rate in back. I think if you pull a leaf, it won't lower it very much because it's way oversprung and is riding near full arch. It should give you some up travel with less rate in it and not give up too much ride height. Kinda hard to explain but I had similar issues setting up my rear springs to work and still have the right height.

Make sure you pull the third(?) leaf from the 44044's or it will be super tall with new springs, but be sure to keep the little guy on the bottom to cut down spring wrap though. My truck runs a shade under 25" frame height on 37's with one leaf pulled out of the front 44044's and a bastard pack of old Downey springs in back

Impressive, looks like a nice reliable suspension setup. If the alcans just won't work with a leaf or two pulled, then I'm really shooting for the rear chevy 63 setup.

Do you think the 63" Chevy springs would still have ample lift without a ridiculous shackle length for a heavier rear end? I'm contemplating doing this and am taking suggestions in my build lol.

Thanks Mike ! Almost never get any wheeling trip videos ! Also shows what the front and rear suspension is doing really well.
