That's very true, But you can get a better idea of the characteristics like if it's throaty or raspy. Tinny or deep.

This is my point. they thought it sounded that way in the clips until they heard it for them self. This is how they explained it

That's what I thought too after listening to several clips of the FM Super 44
muffler but after installing it, it sounded like dirty ass! :D I had it removed and
the stock put right back on.

I have but on different vehicles; also none of them were catback systems. I had Magnaflow (2 round race mufflers IIRC) on my Silverado SS, Borla (XR-1) on my Traiblazer SS, and Borla (Pro XS w/Vibrant resonator) on my Frontier. All the mufflers I went with were smaller than what would come on a catback system so they'd give a different sound and probably be louder.

I had drone with the Magnaflow but that was a true dual setup with the exhaust tips exiting in front of the LH rear wheel. Sounded mean, was the best flowing due to the shape/size, and was the loudest setup of the three. The Borla on my TBSS sounded really good and that's one of reasons I went with Borla on my Fronty. I don't recall if I had a resonator on my TBSS, but there wasn't much drone in the cab. It was enough to let you know it was there, but couldn't really be heard with music playing. The sound of it at idle was music to the ears with the LS2 motor.

Different sound from V6 to V8, but the Borla muffler I ran on my Fronty sounded good as well. It wasn't too loud from the outside and no drone in cab. Without the resonator there probably would've been drone. You can hear the exhuast from in the cab but it was really faint. At idle, it sounded really good.

The verdict: I'd prefer Borla over Magnaflow due to the sound and quality. I'd get compliments all the time on my TBSS and Fronty. When I had the Magnaflows, I researched the name after having them installed and read some bad reviews on their quality. Mainly got those because a buddy had the same mufflers on his Lightning, but his setup sounded Nascar loud.

That's a way better price for the Borla. How much would shipping be from Summit? I priced it up on Borla's website and it was $2xx for shipping, which really made wonder why so much because they are in SoCal so they aren't that far.

Good news for anyone that ordered through Hottexhaust. Mine just shipped and it'll be here at the end of the week or early next week. Meanwhile it looks like they're still on back order. They must've had some in stock.

Planning on it! I've got some tripods, DSLR + stabilized lens, 4K capable phone, and Final Cut. Should be able to come up with something at least.

There's a few on YouTube but (no offense to anyone) they're kinda weak sauce. Interior is what I'm interested in the most after having a bit of drone on my old setup on my Tundra. But I decided to just go with it since there weren't any clips of the '16. Cheers!

Will do! I tried taking one of my K&N filter sound, but my GoPro shut off unexpectedly :frusty:. I will try that again soon.

Anyone try aero turbine on the 3.5l yet? I tried magnaflow, flow master, and multiple wicked flows before trying the AT2525 on my 08. Best setup hands down. Added a vibrant resonator after the headers install and cleaned up the drone and rasp nicely.

Would love to hear an AT on a 2016...

Going on right after lunch tomorrow

Then I go straight to work, but I'll at least try to throw up a quick iPhone clip on my way to work since I'll be on the highway with it and I have the famous 6/5/4/5/4/5/6 gear hunting on my normal route so I should be able to tell if it drones when not in 6th or at a higher RPM. My Tundra would drone a bit between 65-70 and was rather annoying on long road trips but didn't bother me a bit in town or for a short commute. Dead silent at 30-60 though. Or over 75-80. But it was a muffler swap + custom piping rather than a cat-back made specifically for it, so perhaps this is tuned not to drone. :fingerscrossed:

Installed! Working on the clip now, then uploading in a while. I just recorded my trip from home to work which is though the neighborhood, then to a 40mph for 2 miles, then highway for about 6 and then right to my office. So it's got a decent range of speeds and some cruising in 5th because the transmission hates going over 65 in 6th sometimes as we all know.

Video is still processing, so all resolutions may not be available yet, and YouTube's stabilizer made it worse, so it's undoing that. This was just at 1080p/60 on my 6s so there is no OIS and my mount isn't in till next week so I just shoved it under in between the seat and headrest :p.

Awesome! It sounds similar to stock, but louder! Thats exactly what I was looking for. I cant wait to install mine, but I have to wait 2 more days until it comes in!
