looking for a decent 2-2.5 in lift. from the research ive been doing, im gonna shy away from pro comp. i do some moderate off roading, but im not crawling over rocks or any of that noise. im looking for something thats got quality, but dont wanna dump alot into something like an icon lift. so far ive been looking at the bilstein 5100 or the oem. any suggestions?

Old man emu and toytec are good places to start. Both have nice "entry level" suspension lifts that won't break the bank.

The @ToyTec Lifts bilstein complete lift with AAL and 5100's has always been my go to. They were everything I wanted for my first gen and second gen Tacoma. I highly recommend them if you want a good looking ride and a trail running/overland truck. And at $650 you cant beat the price for an entry level kit. And for an extra couple hundred throw in the leaf packs... You won't be disappointed

depends what your price range bc you can piece together a decent icon set up with out UCA and rear 5100 for about 1200-1400. i love the adjustability of the coilover. AAL is about another 200 and install of all these are pretty easy. those other options are also pretty awesome and cheap as well

basically all you need is the coilover which if you did icon would be standard travel without resi to save money. some places you can find a deal for anywhere from 1100-1200. thats basically all you would need to lift the front. the rear would use an AAL which is about 200 and you need a shock for the extra length and the biltein 5100's work great! if you decide you want a UCA in the front thats an extra 650-700 but then you can use an extended travel coilover.
    icon coilover- 1100
    icon AAL-200
    bilstein 5100's-150
pretty nice looking set up and reliable for about 1450+tax

i just know coilovers are much easier to adjust then bilsteins in the front bc im pretty sure to make any adjustment you have to remove the whole assembly as where a coilover you just need a spanner wrench. im a huge fan of icon since putting on my coilover and it looks and rides amazing!

you can put the standard icon 2.5s in the front for 3" without the rest? Can i use LightRacing UCAs with the icons?

Yes they would work with the icons and would technically work with the extended travel icons but I would recommend a UCA with a unibsll such as camburg and Total Chaos. But yes they would work fine. The rear all you would need is an AAL and bilsteins 5100's

Best bang for the buck; Call Headstrong Offroad.....Marie will fix you up!

Bilstein 5100's on all 4 corners. OME coils....885X's give you 2-1/2" lift and still avoid the need for new UCA's.

    Deavers 2" AAL in rear.
