Man, thanks for all the input guys. I'll be up in Idaho for college. Around Rexburg to be exact. Dunes, off road trails, fire roads etc are all around not to mention a couple hours drive down to Utah where I can explore Moab etc. this will be my 3rd year in college so I am pretty acquainted with how my schedule will go school/play time. I will keep you guys posted on what I get, sport or OR it'll be silver sky metallic.

probably not, and "shitty transmission" bah it's fine, does a little hunting in 5-6th gear when going uphill.

I've owned both. The new motor has noticeably more power. I don't miss the 4.0 much after owning the new truck for a few months now.

Why selling the FJ? My vote:

    1) keep the FJ
    2) 4Runner Trail
    3) Tacoma TRD off-road

Truck in college=too many unwanted "friends" on the weekends needing to haul stuff.

There is no way they are changing the 2017 truck besides trd pro and maybe adding the licensed smart phone link. I love my truck so far no problems w my transmission

No significant changes but pergaps some significant room for improvement in quality control and inspections

Maybe they'll switch to topping off the ATF on the 2017s before they leave the factory.

not too many, however looking back, might have hunted around for a manual, mainly because of the transmission fluid low and less complexity.

Lol look at all these responsible SOBs. Get the OR 4 door 4x4. You can't let some jeep hack show you up on the hill. You'll need a locker for that. 4 doors equals more women. (Theoretically you could 8 boobs safely seatbelted in a 4 door)Also, chick's digs lift kits (some don't but they have buzz cuts and are holding signs up outside of a Trump rally somewhere) Have fun and don't drink drive you're new rig!

You should probably consider the TRD Pro, if you can wait a little longer, that thing seems like a beast and may fit your needs better, given what you've mentioned.
