Where can you get additional retainer springs from?

Your question is just as good as mine. I'm going to check with my local mom and pops parts store in the morning or afternoon and let you know.

So are those springs supposed to help keep the pads off the rotor and against the caliper pistons when the brake pedal is not depressed?

They basically keep them from moving. And clanging around.

...and yes, to keep the pads from dragging on the rotors when the brakes are not depressed.

Has anyone heard any info if toyota has a fix for the
"brake slap" clacking noise that is supposedly normal whenever appling the brakes. I have 2013 only 14k so its not wear/tear.

Yes our trucks only have one set of retention springs which are mounted at the bottom of the caliper. Why they decided to do that I do not know, but that is pretty ghetto and cutting corners if you ask me. I simply added a second one up top to make the setup less able to move and clatter around under braking or shifting momentum.

Wow. So what we're saying here is in your pic the bottem white spring is what comes from the factory and you installed the 2nd one on top which negated the infamous clacking??? And the big question- can we get the spring solo (part #) or is it only part of a kit? This is big :)
