Quick question regarding the front diff on the gen3's. I've heard that installing an ARB front locker increases diff strength, but not sure how or if this applies to 3rd gen's. Does it have to do with increasing the number of spider gears, or some other aspect? I don't necessarily have a need for a front locker as Atrac does a pretty good job, but if overall strength can be increased I may be interested.

Also, how common is front diff failure, specifically with 33 inch tires?

    Thanks everyone.

It may not improve the strength but it certainly is not a move down. It can eat axles if you are not careful. They are great for traction but must be used gingerly - only when you really need it. It can be a life saver but if you have a 2016 with multiple traction control modes it may just be a waste of time. The multi traction controls are not so sensitive and will help anyone get out of a traction jamb without the risk of breaking an axle.

Thanks Murphy, I agree with the traction control it works great. Really helps minimize wheel spin which is the cause of most failures I've seen. Either way, I'm really interested in the diff itself. Tie rods and axles aside, does an arb up front increase overall diff strength? I may call ARB on it next week, just curious here. Thanks again.
