    Must I remove the plastic bed cover rails before I can install a tonneau cover on my Tacoma?

    No. Fold a cover elite uses them to mount the cover. And you can still use the rail hold downs. Best on the market. Many diff ones out there.

    Agree with Conumdrum's reply - Rail caps can remain - I had a Jason Product fiberglass tonneau on my 12 DC Sport 6' box - they dealer simply installed a layer of 1/8" foam tape over the covers to keep it from moving and locked it down with the bed edge mounting clamps - all was good and dry ......
