i have a 98 3rz that i just rebuilt and i cant figure out what the problem is if the motor is cold and i start it their is no noise it runs smooth and the oil pressure light is off at idle. once it gets to operaiting temperature their is a very noticeable tapping noise coming from the top end and the oil pressure light comes on at idle. once i go just above idle the light and tapping noise go away. Running 10w30 has a new oil pump and oil filter rings are sealed please help!!:annoyed:

When you rebuilt you torqued all connecting rod caps, main bearings and everything to spec? Believe it or not not doing swill create a gap and decrease Oil Pressure. just a thought.

Yes made sure to do so but i am going to check the caps holding the cams in tomorrow. And if they arent to spec wouldnt it be tapping all the time not just when it is warm?
