First Post - Another Tire Question

HELLO ALL!
This is my first post; there will be many more to come, I am sure.

I bought a 2009 TRD Sport in December of 2014 and have loved it. The tires that were on it when I bought it were Nitto Crossteks (265/65/R17) and they are still on it. I have had one h#!! of a time with nails and screws in the last year. One tire has two patches, another has a patch, a third has a plug almost in the side-wall that I did and have been lucky has held, and the fourth tire had a nail so bad that the tire shop wouldn't allow me to put it back on (so I am using a dunlop spare). Now, Wednesday, I was crossing the RR tracks to my property and one of the pieces of gravel sliced a hole in my left front tire. I pulled it out and plugged it but there is a slow leak and the tire shop say's that it's unrepairable.

I have a couple of questions...

1. My dad is a member of this forum but unfortunately we not talk much, he mentioned a while back that there was a way to "level" the front with a new shock that matched the ones that were on the SPORT package. What shock is that?

2. If I wanted to lift it slightly what lift would be recommended? I really do not want to do a full suspension lift but... I would like to up my tire size.

3. What is the largest tire that I could fit under it without any lift? What about with the leveling with a different shock? What about if I did a "leveling" kit?

I have a close friend who manages a Goodyear in town and I stopped by there to add air this morning... I was looking at the Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure w/ Kevlar and the Wrangler DuraTrac. Does anyone have any history with these tires? I currently have 265-65-R17's... I was looking at 265-70-R17, could I go bigger?

1. Bilstein 5100 is what he's talking about. All you do is replace the front strut and it can raise the font either 0.85" 1.75" or 2.5" with stock coils. I recommend not going higher than 1.75" with that method due to a rough ride. You can pick up a pair for less than $200.

2. If you just want a small lift/level, set the Bilstein 5100s at .85 in the front and don't change the back.

3. The largest you can fit stock is 265/70r17 while stock. You will have to remove your front mudflaps.

I recommend doing the 5100s at .85 and some 265/70r17s for a beefier look on a budget. I also recommend getting new wheels or just some spidertrax spacers because the "beefy" look comes from the wider stance in my opinion.

 

For new tires I would check out discounttiredirect.com. I got 4 general grabber at2s in 265/70r17 shipped to my door for $600. If you buy wheels AND tires from them, they'll also mount and balance them for free.

 

This is totally stock suspension.
