Bed Bar/Bike Rack/Work Light Build

I purchased a bed bar off of a member here a while ago and finally got around to putting it to use. My intentions were to mount two LED cubes for work lights/bed lights and build a bike rack that bolts on to it and can fit up to 3 mountain bikes.

Lights:
I purchased two cubes off Amazon for about $20.00, they had good reviews so I wasn't concerned.

As for the wiring I ran the positive down behind the bed and across the left frame member. And I grounded them to what I believe was a bolt holding brake lines to the frame.



Then I fished them up into the engine bay to the left of the steering column and along the emergency brake cable. I mounted the relay ran the rest of the wires through the firewall and called it a day. Next thing I want to do is cover the power wire to the lights with automotive wire loom.



The interior was a pain to get to but I was able to secure all the wires under the dash and run them over to the center console. I ran a fuse tap to the accessory slot and used a switch from Otrattw and it looks great.




Bed Bar:
Like I said I purchased it off a TW member a while ago, stripped all the paint off, primed, and repainted. Then I cut out some pieces of my bed liner so that the bed bar would fit towards the back of the bed. After some careful cutting I got the pieces cut out with little to no damage to the paint. Then I proceeded to drill holes, which was not easy. I believe I used a total of 5 different bit sizes and a lot of energy to drill through. Towards the back of the bed it seems like the bed rail was triple thickness because there were some supports welded in there, which made it much harder. All in all it mounted up well!



Bike Rack:
I made a simple bike rack out of a 2x4 and some wheel mounts I bought off amazon, and mounted it to the bolts for a Hi-Lift. I will post pictures soon, I loaded it up yesterday and took a trip and it worked great. You remove the front wheels and bam, the forks mount right up on the rack. The skewers on them are pretty cheap and I might replace them with some nicer ones.

I like it, but want to see a few photos of the bike rack you came up with.

Looks good! One suggestion is using Superstrut with spring bolts for the bike rack portion to mount your hitches. It'll bolt right up to your bed bar and you'll be able to move the bike hitches when needed. Plus you can paint the metal to match your bed bar to make it look like it was made for it.
