Satellite phones are you satisfied

Do you get service in those no service or barely service areas , all the time ?

Or are they like regular cell phones where it's hit and miss service?

Our Iridium sat phone works everywhere, never had a loss of service. But that's in the middle of the ocean. Never tried it in a forest or anything like that.

An alternative to a sat phone is something like a Delorme inReach with the 2-way texting now. It can be kind of expensive but it's cheaper then a sat phone.

 

I am running iridium go and Just did 30 mile backpack trip in the Az wilderness.
