image.jpg image.jpg Thinking about selling my Tacoma. A little background- I bought it from a freind who was the second owner at 20k miles.
He missed the frame recall and I bought it from him.
I located a clean southern frame and had it media blasted in and out.
I then refinished it using acid etching primer, sealer, and 2k hot rod black on a rotisserie including inside the tubes with a 360 degree wand. Followed with 3m cavity wax.
With the body off I refinished the entire underside in base/clear.
When reassembling the new frame I rebuilt the entire suspension. New Toyota body mounts, I added an OME lift with dakars, all bushings, ball joints and inner out tie rods are new. Rack bushings, brake lines, fuel filter, rear main seal and front trans seal. Control arms blasted and rebuilt. Carrier bearing. You name it.
Every bolt and bracket during reassembly was blasted and painted. It was done using the dealer procedure as well as all torque values and loctite. All fluids are Toyota. A lot of new hardware from Toyota was also used. Bolts, clips, etc.

Yes it's really a trd with a locker

It has 142k on it. Timing belt done at 110k. Papers to show. All the work I did was done only 5000 miles ago. I've had it a couple years now and just don't use it enough and when I do I could use something larger for my home projects.

Let me know what you all think! This forum has been great to me during my restoration. I was always digging through threads for info.

From what I can see in just the pics, and assuming it a 3.4l and that its 4x4(TRD doesn't always mean that it is). I'd say your probably able to get 13-15k. At least that's a good price for someone in my area to buy it for. You could always list a little high and see what you get. I don't know how much you put in the frame, but it's not going to increase the value of the truck. It will still be worth the same as a truck with its original frame that's in good shape. Just my opinion and I wish you the best on the sell.

I bought my very similar 2004 V6 5speed TRD 4x4, access cab earlier this month in San Diego...25,000 miles on it with a TRD supercharger for $18k (dealer had it listed for $20k).

Out here in California where demand for first gens is high, they fetch top dollar in private sales...I'd guess around 13-15k for your's.

I the exact same truck, 4Dr, 4x4, except an 02 model, my truck is not nearly as mint at yours. I have scratches and one small dint, A/c not blowing cold, PS pump whining, paint fade on one side, ABS light on, front bumper had to be replaced because of a dent, and need to replace drivers side axle seal. The inside has some small places on the front seats. I bought it with 139K miles about a month ago for $8700 and $9500 after taxes and all the fees. Truck came from NY as it still had an inspection sticker, I bought it in Durham, NC. One like yours would list in central NC for around 13-15K like mentioned above.
