These are from my newly purchased 02 4x4. It's one continuous "crack" from the front of the rear leaf spring hanger foward. While I wait on Toyota, would y'all drive it?

No, and no I wouldn't wait on Toyota (they probably won't do anything anyhow) I'd just fix it myself. Or return it to the seller.

I would wait on Toyota and see what they say. If your frame was properly coated when the TSB was issued, regardless of owner, Toyota will replace your frame. I have an 01 and just got it back.

I agree with cynicalrider, you had your frame sprayed and are within the 15 warranty, so you will get a new frame. I think they will replace your antifreeze and they should give you a loaner car, seeing how bad your frame looks. It's a no-brainer to wait for Toyota to replace your frame, even if some parts aren't covered.

Three months. Had several awesome loaners including a 2015 F150, two double cab sports, and a 4runner. If you think you need a truck anytime in the couple of months they have your truck, request a truck. FYI the MPG on 2nd gen tacomas suck and get 16-17 average if that's a big deal. I got new leafs, new LCA's, new e brake cable, and new frame. They installed two new CV's I had given them too as well.

$0. As it should be. The CV's I acquired from another member and re-booted myself.

I missed the part where he said it had been coated. I thought all they did with first gems were frame replacements, the washed their hands of it. If there is hope that Toyota will give you a frame then by all means, wait! I wouldn't drive it though. (Liability issues since you know it's damaged)

+1 on not driving it. If it breaks while driving it you likely will be SOL. Yeah 95.5-00 got crushed, 01-04's got replacements or coatings, and if you were coated you had 15 years from manufacturer date to get a replacement if the coating failed.

:anonymous: That's their fault. They gave me a big V8 Ford f150 that had some real balls to it and still got 18mpg while i beat on it.

Try to avoid driving it in the rain as long as you can, with the colder temperatures, it will take longer to fully cure. I had the CRC applied over a year ago and it's still tacky. Whenever I work under my truck, I'm sure to wear old clothes, because I still get black marks from the CRC, where I rub against the frame. Having the CRC never fully harden is actually a good thing, because staying malleable water doesn't penetrate through to the frame.

I called the company that makes the CRC, noxadul 300 and they say it's ok to use the high pressure car wash once it's cured, but I'm still hesitant to use that much pressure, so have only used a garden hose at home. According to the company, even if the CRC comes off once it's cured, the frame would still be protected because the CRC penetrates into the metal.

Wait till is cures ... over a year now?? And they say even if the CRC comes off that the frame is still protected?? What a load of crap.

Forget about getting your shirt dirty. What happens when you drive on the beach or on a dirt road? Heck even if you don't go off-road does all that street debris stick to the sloppy mess of shit they sprayed under your truck? I'm sorry but Toyota really fucked you guys with that CRC crap. It sucks.
