I just installed an amp and subwoofer but the amp I have is a cheap one that gets really hot. I'm going on a long trip and I was wondering if there is an easy way to disconnect it so it won't be hot and maybe end up shutting off on my long drive . I'm an audio/electrical noob. Thanks

The main amp power wire, there *should* be an inline fuse somewhere. If not, better add one, because there absolutely should be one. Then remove the fuse from the fuse holder for your trip.

But... What good is an amp that you can't use when your driving in your car, regardless of trip length? Something sounds hinky with the install, either amp location or too small gauge wiring.
