I missed out on the group buy, but said screw it and ordered the rack anyways. I can't wait to get it!

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg I haul canoes side by side and needed to run my Yakima bars for the width. I put the Prinsu rack on a 2016 DC. Well the rear crossbar did not clear the sharkfin antenna. So I drilled the sides and run the crossbar so it fits. U bolts front and rear, rock solid.

image.jpg Finished product. With the Yakima bars spaced out at 54", I can run my canoes with 2 straps over bars. I will post pics of canoes strapped later on. I like efficiency.

Anyone have any idea on how to space something up a bit?

I have a new James Baroud Hardshell RTT and since my Toprac and Cabrac sit flush the tent will sit over the cab, My issue is when the bed flexes different from the cab, My tent will jam into the Cabrac since the tent sits flat on the rack. My idea is to make some type of spacer to get the tent to sit a little higher, giving the tent space it needs to flex with the bed, Anyone have any thoughts?

I tried to find how those tents attach to the roof rack but their website didn't show any installation instructions. How does it attach? I should think you could just get some aluminum bar and make the equivalent of a lift block for your tent.

They are mounted almost exactly like a normal RTT, the biggest difference is that the track is molded into the tent itself so the bottom is totally flat.

Gotcha. In that case I'd just get some bar stock to space the tent up a bit.

That was my thought, Maybe get some 1/2 to 3/4 Delrin Plastic to space it up but aluminum blocks might be cheaper

The bed doesnt flex THAT much. When my Top rack gets here I want to flex the rear end and see how much they move

Whoever first suggested using the hole punch for the weather strips should get a free case of beer from everyone. I punched thru 10 holes in about 5 minutes.

Anyone else ran into issue with the mounting spacers being too short? One of my side pieces is touching the roof when I begin to tighten down the bolts. I ended up stacking a thick washer on top of each spacer for clearance.

Yep, people started spreading the good word about the punches too late for my personal install. My spacers hitting rack on one side and bottom of the drip molding groove on the other left the horizonal folded in sections pretty close but thankfully not touching. Maybe, just maybe 0.25".

Eureka! If you ended up with a little bulge in your weatherstripping, try pushing the spacers on either side of the bulge away from each other. There is a a good amount of room for adjustment in the spacers.

What size are the 10 screws that hold the rack onto the cab roof? I'm trying to buy the Torx screws to replace them for security.

I know they are 10mm, but what is the exact callout?

I'm going to go get some EMT conduit today and cut down a ~6" piece and see if I can sharpen the edges to use that. If that doesn't work I'm going to try using a step bit- I think most people drilling are using paddle bits, a step bit should be clean.

I'm just curious, how long is the wait for the rack? I know a ton of orders came in with the group buy but it looks like people were getting them relatively quickly.

I've ordered from Zach twice and both of mine were in the 3-4 week period. Kinda long of a wait, but worth it and understand he has a full time job. Absolutely great product and good service.
