How many of you go wheelin' in your Tacoma and also use it as your daily driver?

I am not talking about taking fireroads to campsites or fishing. I mean real off-roading or off road expeditions etc.

    Just curious.

Wheeled my '02 dang near every summer weekend for a couple of years. Will do the same with my '12 once I get it armored.

Haha, "real" off roading, IMHO, involves anything off of the maintained roads. I recognize that there is a sport that challenges obstacles, and seems like a lot of fun, though. But the only time I take my truck off road, is when I have a destination that I need to get to, that for whatever reason, I can't hike to.

99% of the reason why I buy 4wd's is to off road 'em. I ALSO drive them to work....It's the family grocery getter.....If it wasn't going off the pavement, I might as well own a Chevy......23686113586_5c6d7e6d08_k.jpg blackmountain10-24-15 010.jpg

photo on the left is INSIDE of a cave.....Sand Cave, @ Blue Holler Off Road Park , near Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky.

photo on the right is the highest point in Black Mountain Off Road Area in Harlan Kentucky.

Both spots look pretty sedate, but GETTING THERE isn't exactly the mall parking lot....

265/75/r16 load range C DuraTracs.... Will be replacing them in time, most likely with 285/75/r16 DuraTracs. Like 'em just fine!

Does it count as off road if the road isn't maintained at the time of use?

There was about 3 feet of snow on the road at the time.

I had a heck of a time getting one of them to ride like it was balanced correctly when I first got 'em. After a while, I discovered it needed a LOT of air pressure before it rounded out right. Rode like it had flat spots.....After about 5000 miles with 40 psi, I can now let 'em all down to 30psi and they ride as smooth as any tire I've ever owned. Best thing is, I didn't lose mpg's when I went to this tire from the Yokohama Geolanders that were on it when I bought the truck. Still get over 20!

We don't have much for rocky terrain where I am, mostly mud, clay and sand. But I take mine out pretty regularly to go exploring down powerline cuts and stuff. Mine not only is my DD but I also use it for work as well (outside sales).
