The factory shiny plastic caps are getting noisy, and I'd like to take them off. It doesn't look
like they serve any function, to me, but I thought I'd ask. 2015 Tacoma TRD

You mean rattling? Put a dab of silicone on a couple of the tabs and they'll sit still, assuming you want leave them on.

But no, they are cosmetic only, if you want them off.
