2012+ light weight / heavy hitting armor

Have been considering a few pieces of armor for the truck, including a front bumper, rear bumper and sliders. Not really excited about adding several hundreds pounds of weight to the truck, or having the bumpers overhang a bunch. Was wondering what might be some highly rugged armor yet not adding a bunch of weight. Garage is fairly short so bumper overhang is critical.

Any opinions/ advice is appreciated.

 

As far as weight goes many aftermarket bumpers and sliders fall in around the same general range. I would recommend you look into going with aluminum bumpers if you are really weight conscious. Brute Force Fab makes a front bumper that has the lowest overhang that I've seen on a plate bumper and Billy will make it out of aluminum upon request. Pelfreybilt also makes an aluminum bumper that's pretty light. For rear bumpers there are a number of low overhang options, but I'm not sure of any aluminum ones off the top of my head. I bet Billy at Brute Force would make you one, but I'm not sure if anyone else is making them.

 

All Pro Offroad has aluminum high clearance bumpers. I've been researching aluminum armor bumpers and found that All Pro and Pelfreybilt bumpers look the best, IMO.

 

Billy did a custom bed cage based off a short conversation, it turned out great. I'm very happy with it.
