atv's are like tacomas, they can be a money pit, or leave them stock and run them with what the factory gives you. i have left my commander 1000 limited stock, same as my tacoma trd sport. But back in the day my 82 GS1100E exhaust didnt last 25 miles and on went a Vance and Hines header, and air box. I guess as the price of our toys goes up, im more apt to leave them stock,

I guess it comes down to utility. For the extreme 4x4 guys, they build a truck to do exactly what they want, using a Taco as a base. The mechanical knowledge and talent that goes into some of the builds that we see here are remarkable, impressive. At the same time the guys are extremely generous with sharing their experience and knowledge just for the altruism of helping others.

Some mods, though, actually degrade the vehicle as they mount up. The vehicle starts to lose its integrity, and comprehensive engineering. It's a fine line, and pretty subjective. If you need a daily driver, be careful what you do, and just because something can be modded doesn't necessarily mean it's an improvement.
