Just put in a 10 in. Kicker and sounds great inside but makes a loud rattle from the outside of the truck at high volumes. Is there something I can do to get rid of the rattle? The sub is in the driver side rear storage compartment.

Or get some sound deadener. Or find out what EXACTLY is rattling and secure or remove it.

Process of elimination is the best method when it comes to most audio related issues

I shoved an old towel behind the sub box and it took out some of the rattle. I think it's just to much kick on the back panel. Btw I'm Ryan from AZ too lol

sound deadening mats will def help. However it requires you removing alot of stuff from your truck. Also if you have a loud system then its pointless to try to use the deadening mat because your whole truck will rattle and there is nothing you can do about that.

But if its on the back panel you can try the deadening mats along the back and bottom of your truck and secure the box to the rear panel to reduce the rattle. Ive seen people do their whole truck, a bit over kill but that is my personal opinion. Im sure it helped a ton with the road noise though.

i strongly disagree. Without Deadener, my doors and roof and back wall looked like they where going to FREAK out.I thought why do the roof, no biggy, I'm not going to see a benefit. After i ripped my roof skin from its cross members i applied the deadener and its been solid since. I don't have another word for it. After i loaded them with deadener it went away and doesnt sound like a tin can. Sure there is still some vibration but id say its 500% better once deadened especially with big systems.
