I was planning to purchase a new 2016 Tacoma, but might end up "stuck" with a 2007. My Father in Law is not in good health and most likely will pass away in the near future. My Wife wants to keep his truck for sentimental value and it doesn't make sense to have two Tacomas in the garage. Therefore, I'm planning to make some upgrades to the truck that will allow me to be able to daily drive it for the near future.

One important item that I want to add is a head unit that provides backup camera and Bluetooth capabilities. I'd also like to keep the functions on the steering wheel of changing the station and volume levels. I don't need navigation, but if it's a function of getting a nice unit, am willing to purchase it. I'd prefer to keep the budget somewhat reasonable since I don't want to dump a ton of money into a truck with 125k miles on it.

Could someone please give me a suggestion for headunit and a list of what other items (IE: Scosche or Metra adapter, backup camera, etc) I would need to get something that I'll be happy with? I tried searching, but didn't get the info I was looking for.

    Appreciate the help!

Crutchfield.com - always the easiest place to start! Once you update your truck info they will give you all compatible head units and put the necessary adapters/wiring harnesses/dash kits into your cart once you select a head unit. As you don't already have a backup camera, you would need to purchase one of those as well. I'm sure they'll have compatible options listed for cameras too.
