What are the odds these colors stay?

I am debating on waiting for 2017 to order my truck. The dealer last week eluded to the fact that inferno and quicksand might not be around. I'm pretty sure he didn't know his ass from a hole in the ground but it got me thinking....what are the odds these two new colors are a one year production run?

I'd think they keep them for atleast 2 years. Right now all tacomas are selling so doesn't matter what color they are, people are buying them no matter what

I think they are going to stay and Cement will be the new exclusive colour for the TRD Pro.

You never know with Toyota. Toyota paint comes and goes without warning. My wife and I missed out on getting a 4Runner TRD Pro in Inferno, and ended up getting one in Quicksand.

He told you that to get you to buy right now. The way Inferno is selling, they would be crazy to do away with it after one year. I am waiting for the 2017 and my first choice is Inferno. I am not worried. If they do discontinue it, my next choice is Blazing Blue.

Yeah, he was trying pretty hard, LOL!! I'm confident inferno will be here when I'm ready to order.

Just think of it from his point of view. He has you at the lot right now, he needs that commission right now, if he can get you to buy right now he is good to go. If he lets you walk, you may find a better deal elsewhere and he may not see you when the 2017 comes out. A car salesman is nothing more than a gambler, and he was betting on a sure thing, but, you were strong enough to walk away and he lost that bet. I have a good relationship with my dealer and salesman. I bought a 2015 RAV4 for my wife last year and he was great to deal with. I was ready to get a 2016 Tacoma, but some other things happened and he understood that, but he also knows I will come back to him when I am ready. He also knows that I will be helping my daughter get a car from him when she is out of college, so he has nothing to lose by letting me wait, and he never mentioned that Inferno will not be available for 2017, and he knows that is what I really want.

GM only had Yellow on the 2015 Colorado. Who knows what Toyota will do. Hide -n- Watch.

Salesman talking about 2017 colors is talking out his ass. They might know later in the summer though. Usually Toyota does send out some info about packages and colors a few months in advance of availability in the fall.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he was. In all fairness, he didn't exactly say they were going away he just kind of asked the question...."what if?"

Keep in mind that Inferno is not a "one year" color... it's a carry over color from the 2015 Gen 2 Tacoma. Just sayin.

OP, funny I was wondering that same thing. Keep in mind that Inferno and Quicksand are the only "non-standard" colors. They'd be the first go, when Toyota decides to change. IMO, all the other colors are "standard".

True, but it was on the PRO for 2015. This is the first year it was available for any model.

Who knows what colors will be available next year. Certainly not some salesman at the dealership.

Inferno seems to be very popular, it would be foolish to stop offering it so soon. I ended up with Quicksand because my original choice was discontinued for 2016 (Pyrite Mica) In the end, it's just a color and is of no real importance. But we tend to think its one of the most important choices made when buying a new vehicle.
