I got one of those too. It makes it look clean and professional. I actually have an extra one that ordered for my buddy but he sold his Tacoma. Up for grabs if anyone in SoCal needs one.

No issues with the ride, no difference after the spacer lift, again it was less than an inch. I had 5100s on my old Tacoma, and the current one rides much better, again just me.

Sorry, I should've been more specific. I had a spacers on my previous truck and the ride felt the same so I understand that aspect.

I wanted to know how the OR suspension feels; is the OR suspension stiff like another member said? Not sure if you've ridden in a '16 Sport, but curious as to how the ride is between the two.

I realize your not asking me, but I test drove both the sport and OR quite a few times before deciding on the OR. I read the same thing as you but I felt the sport had a stiffer drive, esp over speed bumps, etc. OR softer and leaned more in turns.

I second that. I test drove both and the Sport has a noticeably stiffer suspension.

Yes, the OR had a more cushy ride, where the Sport was a little firmer, I actually preferred the Sport ride.

That is one reason why I bought a sport over an SR5. I had a 14 F150 V8 and a 08 Prerunner V6. Sold the Ford guzzler and then the Prerunner felt too soft. The TRD Sport gives me the solid feel that the Ford had. I am a 100% on-roader so I wanted a firm ride. The new SR5 has decidedly softer suspension. Good we had choices so everybody gets what they want. Would have been nice to have a leather option but Clazzios filled that void.

Just curious how you zip tied and taped down the shift boot. I'd like the same shifter on my truck but obviously the chrome ring makes it a bitch

When I talked to the dealer about the low transmission fluid, the service manager had actually heard from Toyota corporate that they are having issues with Tacoma fluid levels not being filled to 100%. Whether Toyota recognizing that is true or not, but that is what he told me.

Thanks for the input y'all. Makes sense and now that I think about it, that's how my buddy's Ram 4x4 was, cushy.

I like the ride of my Sport, firm yet comfy and it handles really well. Although, I wouldn't consider the ride stiff though.

I may have to call back & try to press the issue. I'm not having any issues (lag shifting from R to D, etc) that anyone's described here, but just hate knowing it may be an issue.

    1. Take old shift knob off
    2. Pop the entire center console off (see image)
    - I started popping center console off at front right corner, 1st pin back. then it all came off easy
    3. Once center console free, pull it up and back enough for the shift boot to slide off of the shifter
    - you'll have to tweak it a bit as it will still be attached to the parking brake
    4. You'll be able to slide the shift boot off the shifter and see how the chrome plastic ring is attached by zip tie, snip it
    5. The shifter is skinny at top and thick at bottom, about 1.5" in diameter
    6. You'll notice the leather boot, after the chrome plastic ring is off is also about 1.5" in diameter, so perfect fit!!
    7. Just turn the shift boot inside out then slide back onto the shift knob
    - While inside out still, Press shift boot down onto the shifter about 2" into the fat part of the shifter
    - Zip tie it while inside out, and put tape over the zip tie and rest of shifter boot and onto shifter just to keep it more secure
    - Now push shift boot right side in while re-installing the center console
    8. Boom you're done, no more chrome plastic ring rattle !
