Who has put Apple CarPlay in their Tacoma? Do you like it? Any recommendations on head units? I was thinking Alpine.

I'm not really satisfied with my stock audio setup. The speakers are kind of weak and I have the basic head unit for 2012 (no touch screen, no navigation).

I don't have it in my truck personally, but I do install them all the time. the alpine is a pretty solid unit. reviews are pretty good and people like it because its simple with no frills and ease of use. pioneer makes a few too. just need to decide if you want a cd/dvd player or not. next gen will be doing wireless which will be pretty cool vs having to always be plugged in to use carplay

I have it an love it, with the Alpine you can get the tuning app for your phone too and dial in the time alignment which makes a huge difference in sound quality IMO. Another bonus is that you can play the audio from anything on your phone so you can kill your Sirius car subscription and just get the $4.99 per month mobile subscription and play it through your phone...no antenna or anything else needed anymore for Sat radio.

I have a Kenwood with GPS in my other vehicle and I like how it works and sounds great. I'm going to be doing a full audio install on my 2015 trd sport. I'm back and fourth on keeping the factory unit or I might be getting one of the new Kenwood head units coming out soon.

Installed a Pioneer AVH-4200NEX last week with CarPlay and absolutely love it.

I'm going to install a Kenwood with Carplay this week on my own. I think I have just about everything ready to roll but one thing. When I spoke to an installer about what I would need, he gave me a list of items to grab. He also mentioned that Tacoma's antenna is 12v and the head unit is 5v. He told me to get a AFDI 5V. It is listed for Ford products. I'm not exactly sure how to install it. Any help?
