Finished my Appradio 4 install. Originally I used the Metra dash kit but It had plastic brackets and a pain to adjust. Ordered the Scosche kit and it fits great! The only pain part is all the damn wires behind there. The top of the dash kit isn't fully clipped in place but it's not budging. Ran the CarPlay USB plug up into the glove box and mic is up on the a-pillar. It's perfect for what I need and now I have voice activated nav! Found the Appradio on Jet.com for considerably cheaper and then 15% off for setting up the account.

Cleaned up my dash a lot more.

Picked up my customized Prinsu rack side plates and spoiler from the powdercoater. On our 4Runner we always piled different stuff up top depending on our intended activities and made use of nylon straps regularly. I was worried that the very sharp laser cut edges would damage those straps on corrugated roads and cause a failure leading to items falling off and getting damaged or lost. With that in mind I had the sharp edges that straps would go through or possibly cross chamfered to round them out. I am extremely happy with the end result even though my phone camera wasn't very much in focus.

    Will install tomorrow.

Considering I got the head unit for $386. Worth it. The steering wheel interface was another $125. Still cheaper than Crutchfields price for just the radio. And the Scosche dash kit. Ridiculously better than the Metra. Worth a couple extra bucks.

saw some of your posts earlier today.. then stalked.. and thanks to you.. I now want to build my own. I have a piece of 3" x 6" x 1/4" thick square tubing thats 53" in length.. too short I believe. so.. I started drawing up a design in Solidworks for a HC myself.

    yours came out great man!!

Lets see... I built a sleeping habitat in the back of my DCSB 13' Taco! and then added a old Yakima warrior roof rack... Then I tore down the rear leaf packs (which already had an icon aal pack) and added the overload back in.

How do you guys manage to route wires through the firewall??
Seems impossible, and all I'm doing are RI D2s and a Light Bar to the switches.... cleaning up wiring for the weekend.
I couldn't get through the middle part of the rubber grommet so I went around, but I want to make it more sound.

If you kind of stay to the left part of that grommett, not all the way to the left but split the difference between the wires and grommett, and take a pick hook and push it through then tape your wire on the end and pull it through, it makes it alot easier. Old stereo installer trick i learned a long time ago.
