4x4 trouble

    thanks but got the issue fixed had to replace transfer case tried to replace motor and it would not shift to 4 hi

    Waste of money there but whatever. Why even ask for advice if you're just going to shotgun parts at it? Might as well just replace the whole truck every time something breaks

    I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
    yeah, most likely actuator was not lined up. When people replace actuator they set to different position than what TC is, which does weird things. Best way to use like 9V battery to put transfer case actuator into 2WD position, than make sure all shift forks are lined up to 2wd position before instilling actuator.
    Rear locker is another example, it has to be in locked position to be installed and uninstalled. So its not just swap parts, you have to swap them in right setup. However, glad its working now.

    thanks but we tried to replace actuator with out tearing down the transfer case never could get the motor timed when we replaced the transfer case it fixed the problem

    that was the dealer throwing parts at it. i could only go by what they were saying. i started with a repair shop finaly wound up a transmission shop .everyone here said that it could be done but no one could help with this everything was tested as was told in the post 3500 was way ouyt there wer a few who doubted my word no could tell me how to time the motor or even say how they did it if they even have.
