I did something like that when my truck was four months old back in 2010. A full bed load of sod freshly cut from my buddy's lawn. We'd never used a sod cutter before and ended up cutting it deeper than necessary so the sod rolls had a lot of wet dirt and were HEAVY.

I made two 30-minute trips up the highway with bed fulls of sod like that. I believe it was riding on the bump stops but IIRC it wasn't squatting nearly as bad as the OP's truck. Let's just say I had no problem getting the leaf spring TSB done a month after that.

I was young and stupid, and it didn't occur to me until after the fact that it was bad for the truck and it may have done damage. It's been six years and almost 70k miles since then and luckily I haven't had any problems result from that escapade. A year after I hauled the sod I hauled a bed full of loam from the landscape supplier 10 minutes down the road. I don't think the loam was as bad as the sod because it wasn't piled up as high and wasn't as wet as the sod.

Overload a Chevy like that, and the breather hose for the diff will burn up on the exhaust after a few miles. Yet another reason why it's nice to have a lowboy.

If you are found liable for a collision while overloaded like this you are so SOL.

Usually they're on the conservative side, not that this load looks like a good idea.
