Would the silicone be good to help seal my bakflip from water? Also, would it come off easily if/when I remove the tonneau to go to some thing else?

How much water is coming in? Any tips, water seems to come in on mine where the design on the bed rails has lower spots.

Some idiot the other night decided he was going to merge his low-ass rice burner into my lane (at a low speed). The predator steps took a nice chunk out of his bumper, I simply wiped the residue off the steps.

 

Installed my spider in the bed. I love the look of it. Also stared at my Baja Champion BFGs a lot.

 

Not to spam, but also hooked it up to the trailer. Just a little 6x10 trailer to go play with my other toys.

This is my first Taco, so pardon my ignorance about what changed between the 2nd and 3rd Gens. Did the bed rails drop an inch or so from where they had been, relative to the top of the bed?

I ask because I tried to install a CBI Offroad bed rack today, which mounts onto the bed rails, but the holes in the bed rack are too high to mount it to the rails. Not sure if CBI tried selling a 2nd Gen rack for 3rd Gens without checking to see if they would fit first, or if my rails are just goofy. Note, I did have a factory tonneau, and I don't know if the rails were installed a bit lower to fit that hardware.

^ Sad day, I was looking forward to having a nice rack.

CBI has been emailed, but I'll probably have to wait until next week for them to be back in the office.

After install i took a heatgun/ blowdryer on low setting to the seals and they molded up to the curveture very nicely. As far as water i only seem to get a little around the tailgate, im sure a tailgate seal will fix that. Not enough to concern me.
