So I'm new to the community but not entirely new to Tacos, in fact this is my third. I picked up an 05' Double Cab TRD Sport a few years ago and loved the thing.

I needed something to pick up cheap motorcycles to flip, and it was the perfect tool for the job. I had an opportunity to move to California 4 years ago and couldn't afford to keep it without having a job lined up. So off it went to its new owner and out I went to find a 1st gen for a little less cash. Fast forward 6 months, I threw the bike in the back, hooked up a trailer and took off to California.

I managed to get a gig at Eibach which was a 124 mile round trip commute and decided it was time to let the 03' go for a friggen Honda Insight. After a year and a half of the mind numbing commute I finally moved to Corona and ditched the Insight for an E36 M3, which quickly turned into a track car.

So the most reasonable and responsible option was to pick up a second daily, right!?

My co-worker tipped me off to this gem and it all worked out perfectly. One owner, no accidents, older couple, dealer serviced, all maintenance done with the paperwork to boot! It's a 2006 Access Cab, TRD Offroad 4x4 with a very young 115K on the odometer.
The problem is, everything I touch eventually gets ruined or turns into some sort of purpose built vehicle (see M3 comment above) so I'm sorry to say this cherry example of a Tacoma is bound to see my wrath. In fact it was less than 24 hours before the first mod and less than 72 before it was out in the dirt FOR THE FIRST TIME.

I'm a big advocate of forum communities which are all dying off way too quickly these days. I figure a build thread would be a good platform to talk about my plans, hear what you guys have to say (good or bad) about specific mods and help me work through actually building this truck to be a clean simple versatile daily that can wheel Moab one week and blast around Glamis the next.

It's an 03' Sportster 883. Very Mickey moused and haggard but it's oh so much fun. I've been from Cafe racer Hondas to R6's and this one, despite its lack of technology and just plain stupid heavy design has seen the most adventures.

Hahaha it's setup as a street tracker / flat tracker. And yes, I had a permanent burn on my leg until I put proper heat wrap and aluminum heat shield on there.
