The trail head is about 15 minutes from my house, so I do it a lot. It starts at Rowher Flats OHV off of sierra highway in Canyon Country Ca. It ends at Bouquet Reservoir on Bouquet canyon rd. It is more challenging if you start on the bouquet side.

You can bypass the tough sections in a lot of places on the fire road that snakes back and forth over the 4x4 trail. There is also a great mountain bike only trail about half way up.

It was a perfect day as it had rained some the day before, no mud just perfect traction!

It is a fairly easy trail and can be done in a stock 4x4 as long as you have the proper tires and air down. I ran into and past a group of two Jeeps today and one was bone stock! He was struggling pretty hard but made it with very little help.

I remember that trail well, been 6+ years since I've run it. Glad to see it is still open.

It's about 6 miles one way. If you finish on the Bouquet side you can pick the fire road to Drinkwater Flats OHV and some even more challenging trails.

How did you like the back side of the trail? Ive gone up the front and back down the front a ton because last time I tried (before I got my truck) I was with my friend and he struggled hard. There was a part near the end I thought we might flip. It's been awhile since I've gone the backside just because of that.

The trail leading up to and down from the reservoir there was pretty gnarly, at least for me...was my first time using 4wd. I'd love to meet up if any of you guys head out that way again, I live about 40 min away

@Sandtaco from the looks of the weather it seems we may have just missed one another, were you there last Saturday? It was pretty deserted, especially on the trail leading out to the reservoir.

Haha, your username is appropriate for this query ;)

It's a reservoir for the city, not sure if recreational activity is allowed but I cant say for certain. The OP said he lives close by, he'll probably know.

If you're talking about the lake in the picture, it's a ladwp resivoir. You may want to avoid it. They've really tightened up their security over the past few years. Even with the keys to it they still give us hell when we're caught

If I was gonna risk fishing a dwp resivoir it would be elderberry above castaic. The bass and stripes are unreal
