    I did that and did not see a box to turn off "new thread alerts"

    Give me the full text of the new thread alert please...it sounds like you're Watching/Sub'd to a forum and it's alerting you when someone creates a thread in it.

    This happened to me when I joined...I unchecked all the alert boxes in the settings menu and I would still get emails from thread responses.

    I opened one of those emails up one day and clicked on the unsubscribe button or whatever it was, they stopped coming after that.
