That's neat. I've wanted to do that drive for a while; it's not too far from me so it'd be nice to knock it off while I'm living here. In all fairness though, I know somebody that just did it in a corolla.... and people drive the Dalton recreationally all the time. From what I hear it's not really much different than the other shitty highways and ice roads and stuff up this way.

I have to say my favorite part of the YouTube video was seeing the LR4 having very tame tires. Keeps me humble with when considering another tire.

Nice dude, Yeah the only other person I've seen do it was a black AC where I got the idea from. I tuck my topper on the side on the tent, keeps it in place over night though the wind. Got to love that no one even knows and everything below the tent is pretty secure if you have a locking tailgate since you only have a couple of inches on each side to reach in the bed.

I was able to use my annex with it only mounted on flush bars, You can't stand up under the tent portion but the over lap area you have plenty of room.

Its a solid setup forsure, setup is quick. The back flap is sandwiched in-between the back bedrail, so it stays in place. So undo the velcro across the rear, undo the snaps along the side, unpin the center rotating pin on each side, and lift up and off. Takes a couple of mins, little bit less than the RTT

Honestly you could build a drawer system that would fit underneath, That would only add to the water/dust/security. Use a pop n lock or what I've been meaning to do myself is add a swing out lock, not getting anything out of the bed after the swing out is locked

No worries. I was in the Army with a crew of Guamanian devils. Those dudes can cook some pig, and know how to party. I work for the Weather Service now, and argue about the weather all day long. Don't take it personally. On February 4th, 1996 the town of Couderay, WI saw the temperature plunge to -55 °F. This broke previously existing all time Wisconsin record low of -54 °F set on January 24th, 1922 at Danbury.

Vintage Empre Electric 12/120V Perculator. Makes 6 cups in just under two minutes. Works amazingly well and I got it for $2 at a yard sale. Pulls 18A when on 12V, though I have only done that once as it missing the 12V plug adapter. To test it I just wired up each side of the 120 connector to the battery. Worked great, but I am still looking for a replacement plug for it. I could get a whole set on eBay for around $25, but only having $2 into this one, I just can't see myself doing that. Besides I think the lighter socket in the cab is only 10 or 15 amps anyway. I am thinking of just wiring a single socket house plug in the bed for 12V just for the coffee pot, then I remember I am lazy LOL!

I have pain as well, and bought a chair at REI that has a bolster for my lower back, and it is leaned back just the right amount. It sits low, however, so that my legs are out in front of me. I like it.

This chair doesn't lean back, but I have back problems too and can lean back in it comfortably. Very solid construction with quality materials. Most of my friends that have sat in them end up ordering some for themselves. The lifetime warranty is nice too.
