My 2 year/25k mile free changes ended; sadly. I don't mind doing the service myself actually. Did some great research on different oil filters here on our site, and am going with Toyota OEM. Hope this link and attachment helps others doing the same. I'm planning to order my filters from Amazon (cheaper than the dealership) and get my Mobile 1 Full Synthetic from Walmart.

I have a '16 3.5L and do the same thing. The filters come from a dealer via Amazon. I also use the Mobil 1 (Walmart) but someone on the "oil" thread bashed Mobil 1 and said the Toyota brand of 0-20W synthetic was a better oil and they also liked the Penzoil Platinum. But I have used Mobil 1 in all my Toyota trucks (3 Tundra's before the Tacoma) and 2 Lexus RX 350's with no problems.

None yet, starting over!! OME lift w/ Dakars & 885's Remote Start w/ window control
This is what I've been doing for 5 yrs now (I never got the free dealership oil changes anyhow...), save for the bulk filter purchases... a 10 pack of filters would last me 3 yrs and only save me $10 over that timeframe, since the local dealer sells them to me for $5.50 ea (or 3 for $15, which lasts me close to a year). Walmart is great for the oil, but every now and then I grab a 6 qt pack from Costco when it goes on sale... which usually makes up for the extra 1/2 qt I need

Don't forget your Fumoto flip valve (don't trust the link takes you to the right one) so you don't have to take the drain plug out

Purchase on ebay doesn't add up. Based on the above advice, I actually found 3 filters for $16 on ebay..cheaper than on Amazon. (hey $5 is $5) but the "check to see if this fits your vehicle" data tells me it doesn't and the listing only shows for the 2.7L motor. Is this an ebay problem or something? the OEM codes match up from the description and the pictures: upload_2016-4-11_14-39-25.jpg
However look at the "This Fits your vehicle data and it only shows 2.7L.
I have 2014 LIMITED, V6 with 4 full doors and 6 foot bed. I'd like to purchase this but maybe there IS a reason this states it wont fit. The odd thing, is that on the Amazon site, it states it will.

The filters are stamped "Made in Thailand". There are some reputable made in US filters worth considering: Amsoil; Fram Ultra; Some Wix/Napa (they have 4 plant locations around the world); same with Baldwain filters; and same Champion Labs (makers of Mobil1, Royal Purple, and others).

well, I'll have to try ebay next time. I went ahead and ordered them Amazon which say, "made in Thailand". I could not confirm the others just yet. Not being picky, but seems like people on ebay don't try viewing their sales from the buyers point of view; validating their listings. I don't know...but they lost a sale over it... I did send them an quick note with pictures asking questions and notifying them that they don't match up. Any hoot, I ordered them and a few other things, so shipping was less.
