Im new to tacomas. I want to put my 03 on 33's and 20's. Its a stock double cab trd offroad 4x4 silver truck. I want to do some 20x10 Fuels or Moto Metals with 33x12.50 tires. What size lift will I need and will I need to regear. i'm used to looking at 2nd gens but I found a good deal on a 1st gen 03 and snagged it. Any advice guys? Best lift options? I'm not a fan of body lifts whatsoever.

20x10, with 33/12.5, definitely gonna need a regear.

Probably still going to need it unless you go with a very light wheel. Only sad truth is really only 2 ways to shave weight off a wheel, smaller diameter, or narrower width. I'm sure there's someone on here who will tell you they didn't notice to big a loss in power, but on the same note you'll find plenty who have gone with a 285/75/16 or 285/70/17 which is gonna be a pretty much lighter setup all the way around, narrower tire(not by much), and a lighter wheel, mostly it comes down to how much power loss your willing to accept.

Even with a full 3 inch lift you'll be doing alot of cutting to fit everything rub free. If ya stick with an 8 inch rim itll fit a tad better, but i suppose they dont have an 8" in that wheel you want...

Since you have a 3.4 you can get away without a regear if it really dosent bother you. If it were mine though id prolly go 5.29's with that auto tranny. Atleast 4.88's though. Its expensive and it steers peeps away from doing a gear swap but its so beneficial to do. It really brings the sluggishness out of the truck!

And yeah youve prolly got 4.10's as of now, maybe not with the auto though...either way itll be considerably more sluggish running stock with 33's. There is a code on your door sticker that tells you your ratio, check the "sticky" at the top and figure out your gearing.

What if I did an 18x9 wheel with some wheel spacers for some stance. Theres a kid on here with a 2.5" leveling kit on 33" Nitto Terra Grapplers and I figured he rubbed but i havent heard back from him
