Hi. Long time lurker. Finally registered. I'm currently a 4Runner (4th gen) owner. I come here a lot when checking maintenance and DIY projects since there are so many similarities. I also may become a Tacoma owner whenever it comes time to get a new(ish) vehicle. Most definitely if Toyota turns the 4Runner in the unibody direction, but I really miss having a pickup so we shall see.... At any rate, all the technical articles and threads I've read here have been great and I hope to be able to contribute with all topics shared between the 4th gen 4Runners and 2nd gen Tacos.

I really enjoy doing my own work on the truck and I'm glad that these trucks are fairly DIY friendly and reliably built. While I'm not a mechanic, I'm fairly mechanically inclined and I enjoy learning how stuff works. I'm usually fairly confident in the DIY jobs I undertake, but also usually wonder in the back of my mind if I've screwed anything up (lol).

I served in the Army in Afghanistan, now I'm a firefighter (currently I'm a lieutenant, which in my dept. is a driver/operator and I fill in as officer when the CPT is off. I've played guitar and saxophone for about 30 yrs I guess though I haven't had much time to play lately with young kids. I consider myself a jazz guy, but I like rock, blues, Beatles, old R&B (like motown to Huey Lewis. Not the slow rap "R&B"). Maybe there's some folks nearby who like to jam a little (??). I enjoy the outdoors , hiking, camping, riding MTB, going to the coast to surf, etc. Again, I'll have to get the kids interested in that stuff.... Anyway, before I get to my sign, and long walks on the beach I'll sign off. Have a great day!
    Bob
