    Hi everyone,

    First off, thank you to everyone for being on this site and making a kick ass encyclopedia for Tacoma and general automotive information. Seriously, this place is a dope community :)

    Well, I bought a used first gen at the beginning of February and I've been getting prepped to drive from CA to MA via all over the place come June. The truck is almost all stock and I dig it. The truck is a Sierra Beige 95.5 v6 4x4 5 speed manual with 113k miles.

    I've done a few things in preparation for this 5k-6k road trip coming up.

    I put on (read: jerry rigged) a used Softopper, painted my bumpers black, installed a new head unit (hurray USB), changed the engine, transmission, transfer, and differential fluids, swapped out the interior bulbs for LEDs, built a sleeping platform for the bed, and installed some LEDs in the bed. I think thats everything.

    Turns out the used softopper I bought sans bedrails is for a Dakota, which have a longer canopy frame, so it rests against the rear window when I fold it forward. I like my wooden rails though!

    Thanks again for having me. Here are a few pics, enjoy !

    James

    P.S. I installed the LED bed lights based on another members post, capturecolorado So I'll send a shoutout to him for the inspiration.

    I also followed used another members basic design or the sleeping platform, and I'm trying to find their username so they can get credit :)

    @ DrFunker
    I had that setup while I was driving from CA to MA in the most round about way this past summer.

    @EastWaTaco
    I was pumped to get one with the mileage and I put 22k-ish since I bought it in Feb 15. That cross country trip and a long commute to work this summer added up quick.
