The only disadvantage to owning a older Toyota truck, doesn't take a lot for the bumper to rust! Mine is chrome and it's starting to flake and chip and rust. Wanting to paint it black. Can't decide between a matte black or rhino liner? Has anybody done this? Thanks!

I used the herculiner I think it is....in a spray can. You can get it at autozone and such for about 10 bucks a can. Did great. A little faded now but it's been 5 years. Make sure you scuff it up good first

I'm thinking about painting mine for the same reason! Not sure yet...

My stock bumper starting to rust after I got love tapped by another vehicle. So I took it off and bought a TG rear bumper.

Dip it and you'll have flat black. If you don't like it, peel it off. You'll spend $5.

If you line it and don't like it you'll spend whatever rhino costs+ whatever a new bumper costs.

I used the rhino paint as well but it isn't stock. Still if it was I would do the same thing. Not a fan of chrome anymore.

I did my front TG bumper with bed liner but you have to grind the crap out of it if you want to weld on it. That's why I just rattle canned my rear TG bumper & sliders! See the texture on the front bumper

Also thinking about this. Anyone got a pic of a stock rear bumper dipped? On lunar most would be nice but any color will do.

I've sprayed inside of a jeep and a truck bed with Raptor liner, pretty good stuff and easy to apply. I also just had my bumper powder coated for about $150, came out pretty good if you wanna go that route.

Mines prepped for painting, just been busy with another truck. I'd recommend Herculiner. It rolls on and also acts as a primer so you can then paint it any other color. Make sure you hit it with a rust converter before you use anything on top of it. I use the hell out of stuff called Corroseal. Its so far so good one year later. Ive done my skids, frame, and entire truck using this process...
