Unfortunately its followed, though not as bad. Found a few spots in some cubbies that had some rust starting. Stock rims are ruined too. I have no luck :(

That wax/oil spray that I made is the shit though... Its still on the frame from last fall, the wax flakes off if you hit it with something sharp. Still oily and tacky. Gotta make more

I'm curious about the recipe as well. Sounds like it's holding up pretty well.

    EDIT: late to the party

    FML!

Was under the truck making these little abs sensor guards... apparently the sensor snaps off at the plastic and its a few hundred to fix. And its on the front side of the axle... brilliant design. And I see my damn Icon shock shafts are rusted(@icon_rep ). I lightly knocked off the surface rust with a 3m scuffy pad and coated them w/ some oil. Im headed to Windrock next week so shipping them now isnt an option. This crap is ridiculous... I want an old truck, old parts, less rusty disposable electronic crap!

    Front shafts look fine.

My brothers and I ventured out to Windrock over Thanksgiving break. Got to the trails and this happened.... #fordproblems

[IMG]IMG_7059 by ruggedT Decals, on Flickr

Just kidding! Dual batt solenoid was stuck or something. Was making a ton of racket.
Truck did great. Sliders worked and skids worked... the subframe needs a modification on the transfer case one, I left the ends unsupported for some reason and it bent up. Yota is my brothers - has all of my Tacoma's old parts. We stuck to the blue trails. The one black we tried had ruts on the uphill that you'd need 40's to clear without riding on axle/skids the whole way up.

    And these trail grapplers.... awesome!

Dropped the truck off at Ford for the leaking diff cover and the clearcoat peeling off the rims. Dealer called and gave me a hassle over the diff cover... trying to explain that they sweat sometimes. Argued for a while and he said he would re-seal the thing.

I asked about the rims. Oh... those are already on order.

Not the order I expected that to happen. Dealers are such a pain

Got some blingy new rims from Ford, they also re-did my diff seal. Score!

Good to know, planning on putting 1 or 2 cams on the race car when it gets to that point.
