When hooking up my parking brake cables to each rear wheel, I noticed the bracket it attaches to is loose. Both sides. It looks like there is a 2-3" bolt going through this bracket that contacts the inboard side of the brake drum. Since both sides have a lot of play. Tried turing the 10mm bolt I just mentioned and it's not snugging up. Should I just leave it the hell alone?

Does the brake apply when you pull the handle? I replaced my cable a few years ago, can't remember for sure but it seems like mine were loose as well.

If the brake sets I would leave it alone, but I am definitely no expert.

That bracket needs to move .

Tighten it up will cause the Emergency Brake to not work correct.

There is a bushing in that bracket that does wear out .

There is a lock nut so the nut stays on but the bracket still has the range of motion.
